How it works

This page explains where our data comes from, how we detect changes, and what stale and under-review states mean.

Data source

All processing dates are read directly from the official DETE page at enterprise.gov.ie. We do not receive data from DETE directly, and we have no affiliation with the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.

The DETE page is checked automatically at regular intervals. We only record a date when DETE publishes it.

How changes are detected

When our system fetches the DETE page, it compares the current processing dates against the last confirmed values. If any category date has changed, the change is flagged for confirmation.

Before a change is published, we fetch the DETE page a second time to verify the change is still present. This two-step confirmation reduces the risk of publishing a transient error.

Changes involving multiple categories at once, date regressions, or unusually large jumps are held for human review before any alert is sent.

What stale and under review mean

Stale

We have not been able to successfully fetch the DETE page in the last 72 hours, or our system has encountered repeated failures. The dates shown are the last known confirmed values.

Under review

A change has been detected but is being verified before publication. No alert emails are sent until the change is confirmed. The dates shown are the last confirmed values.

Alert emails

If you subscribe, we send one email per confirmed date change per category you have selected. We do not send marketing emails or share your address with third parties.

Every alert email includes a link to unsubscribe and a link to manage your category preferences. Unsubscribing is immediate and requires no account.

This is not your application status

The processing date shown is the most recent application receipt date that DETE has decided across all applications in a category. It is a single published number for the whole queue — not specific to your application.

To check the status of your individual application, use the DETE Employment Permits Online (EPO) system.
